Lead Foil Tape
Principal Uses
Prized for it's excellent stop-off capabilities in certain metal finishing processes, this lead foil tape excels at masking metal surfaces. It can also be used to simulate lead glass windows and other surface decorations.
The density of the lead tape also allows it to be used for precise weighting that requires adhering to low energy surfaces.
Features
LF420 lead foil tape is dead-soft material. This means the foil substrate is highly malleable and conforms to complex shapes and surfaces.
At 5 mils thick, it employs a 1.0 mil aggressive acrylic adhesive. It is also resistant to solvents and heat. The service temperature range is 0 to +275F (-18C to +135C).
This tape is on a liner, and not self-wound. This helps avoid buckling and creasing when unwinding the tape, allowing for a smoother surface when applied.
This product is not designed for a clean removal from substrates.
Lead Foil Tape Part Numbers and Pricing
Case quantities not required; only a minimum purchase at least $50.

Surface Preparation / Application
Surface should be dry, clean and free of contaminants prior to tape application. As with all pressure-sensitive adhesive system products, use firm pressure when applying tape. Best adhesion typically occurs over 24 hours; maximum adhesion 1 week.
ATTENTION: Lead is known to be a carcinogenic substance. To avoid health hazards, always wear latex or nitrile gloves when handling lead foil tape. Wash or clean all surfaces which contact the tape, particularly before eating, drinking or smoking. The Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for our lead tape is here:

Made in the USA
We support Americans working in America by only purchasing, slitting and die cutting American-made foil/metal tapes. All of the tapes on this site are slit and/or die cut in-house at our converting facility based near Chicago IL.
NOTE: It is the customer's responsibility to test a sample (we provide FREE samples of all of these tapes) of the tape to determine suitability. All tape is custom-slit to width and it not returnable after order, unless found to be defective.
